Happy whatever day it is today

Okay… I know it’s been long since I have posted anything here.  It is so good to be back, atleast for me. So today when I woke up I suddenly got bombarded with messages wishing me “happy women’s day”, I swear on holy whatsapp that I have not received these many messages even on my birthday. My fever shot up when I saw everyone ranting about women and respect, even on the facebook and other social media platforms. Oh how I loved to scroll through it! Ofcourse, even if im sounding rude any normal person would not have taken pains to read all this garbage (I repeat, garbage) same garbage every freaking year. WHY????? So this particular post won’t be a ranting about women rights, the number of rape cases and domestic violence cases that have happened and are still happening even though there is a huge circulation of whatsapp messages respecting women, or about how valuable and hardworking a woman is or how you should state yourself as a feminist or “I am not a feminist but I respect women” just to sound really cool.
This blog post is directly from the burning insides (no not acidity, just to sound very poetic) of a common blog writer who is a woman. So why did I get mad about this entire drama that is happening on the 8th of march. It is because, every damn year “only” on the women’s day I get to read messages of equality, superiority and respect. The rest of the days it’s all the same and I feel more terrible when I see women posting messages to gain respect. I mean, dear women, you do not need attention on this particular day, you need attention every damn day. The men who post about respecting women spend the entire year objectifying women upon their looks. Dude please objectify me on the basis of my IQ and intelligence. But no, they just cannot, because it is rightly said that “intelligent women”, the women who are honest and the women who argue are the most intimidating.
I read somewhere that women are meant to be loved and not understood. Sorry mister Oscar Wilde, just because you were a famous writer you cannot be taken seriously. It is better for men to understand us so that we don’t need a particular 8th march to make them realize that “hello we exist, shower flowers on us and then treat us like trash on the other days”. Understand us for what we feel and what we say. Understand us when we are PMSing and on our period so we don’t have to act and lie to you saying “we are not well” and leave it upon you to understand depending upon your IQ. Understand that if we say that we believe in “feminism” we do not mean to “dominate”, “insult” and claim a superiority over “men”, we want “equality” , “equal treatment” for not only our gender but for other genders too (LGBT and the rest). Understand that our minds are more alert than yours and we get alarmed way too fast and so we tend to hit the car breaks faster rather than being shady like you men and just break the rules, so we aren’t “bad drivers”.

I mean guys, we do not need a day just like you don’t, we all are humans, we belong to a superior race and we don’t need definite days to specify our importance. So for the next time you laugh at the sexist jokes, objectify women and end a line with “because she is a woman” (usual sweeping generalizations) remember that you were the ones who wished and made us great on one particular day. We are enough and happy without such consideration, thankyou.

Book Review: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle Author: Haruki Murakami Pages: 607 Genre: Surreal Reading a Murakami book is easy. But, what is difficult is to understand it and even after u have understood and interpreted it, it is difficult to explain or review it. I have no idea where to start my review from. So, i have decided to break the novel into its various characters and review through them (which is the way the story is told in the novel). Simplifying the basic plot: The story revolves around the life of Toru Okada and his wife Kumiko Okada. Toru has lost his job and stays at home while Kumiko goes out to work. One fine day, Toru and Kumiko lose their beloved cat, which they had adopted after their marriage. Kumiko expresses the cat to be the sign of their married life and right after losing it things starts breaking down in their married life. Kumiko without prior warning leaves Toru. She asks Toru to file a divorce through her brother and she refuses to meet him...
Time Wrap It was 7 a.m in the morning. Shirley woke up with a different kind of a feeling. She felt really light and relaxed. She surely had a goodnight’s sleep. She was feeling so fresh and good that she almost forgot about the tiff she had with her mother the previous night. Shirley’s parents got divorced when she was in 4 th grade. As per the laws, her mother got her custody. She was allowed to meet her father every weekend. Shirley’s mother was an activist and a socialite. She was always busy with her work, NGO and parties. She loved her mother but lacked the support and love from her mother that an adolescent usually needs. The previous night she had found about her mother’s affair with a middle aged businessman. Well, instead of her mother telling her about it, it was the newspaper which told her...
She and He She stepped on a pebble, it was big enough to steady her fingers on it, but she couldn’t balance herself.  She then balanced over her firm foot on the ground. There was a puddle right in front of her, and she looked around and confirmed that no eyes were at her. The college students were busy bustling with their vehicles from the parking, and everyone was leaving with their transparent rain proof attires. Yes!! She would be alone now, no eyes watch her and so she splashed in the puddle. The momentarily happiness reminded her of her world,  innocent and pure,  where any such act was taken as an act of innocence.  No one judged her, no one stopped her, and no one made her care about the society and just like the splashing sound her nostalgia ended up in seconds all washed away like the cobweb or dust upon the trees with the first rain.  She then realized that she had to return to her home and hire an auto.  The rains were heavy and so...
